Innovation in Wargaming Conference
Weekend 27th February-1st March 2009

The next Innovation in Wargaming Conference is on HMS Belfast, central London HMS Belfast's website

The event includes Cruiser 2009, which is a wargaming show on set on HMS Belfast on Saturday 28th February 2009.

On the Saturday, the wargaming show will be run in partnership with the Chestnut Lodge, a well established wargaming club based in London.

The conference is about developing new ideas in wargaming. The sessions are proposed by people coming to the conference. They range from traditional toy soldier games, to military models. The games can come from the amateur, civilian and professional wargaming areas. Games often include toy soldier games, map games, role-playing, matrix games, board games, hall games, specialist lectures etc...

The sessions may be completely finished wargames or perhaps they are only 'half-baked ideas', usually they are somewhere in between.

The people coming to the conference are very friendly and the only qualification necessary is a willingness to try new ideas in wargaming.

There are three types of sessions at the conference. The first is plenary games, that most people normally take part in. The are designed to help people to get to know to each other. The second type are the optional sessions, of which there are normally at least two going on at any one time, so you have a choice which session catches your interest. The third type of game are After Dinner Games (ADG) that are simpler games (one brain cell) and are normally scheduled to run late into the night.
